Hiring Salary Range (annual):  $5,425.33/mo (min) - $6,618.73 (mid)
Type of Position: Full-Time, 40 hrs/week
Location of position: Denver Water’s Admin Bldg. (1600 W 12th Ave, Denver, CO 80204)

The Administrative Services at Denver Water is looking for a Security Supervisor to join their team! This position is responsible for a comprehensive physical security program for protection of company personnel and property. Will operate security systems, conduct security incident investigations, and reporting. Supervise and plan the direction of Denver Water wide security operations to include physical security activities, supervision and training of proprietary and contracted guard force.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement methods of identifying physical security vulnerabilities. Evaluate potential personnel safety/security issues as well as organizational/operational vulnerabilities through a detailed analysis.

  • Oversee Security Operations Center functions. Ensure monitoring of duress, fire, and intrusion alarm systems. Ensure conduct of alarm system tests. Maintain log of significant events and ensure correct contact information data for all Denver Water facilities.

  • Maintain security incident reporting systems and databases.

  • Ensure timely and thorough investigation of security related incidents and related matters including the preparation of thorough documentation of circumstances, vulnerabilities, and recommended corrective action.

  • Ensure that communication and remote control gate and entrance processes are operational and properly maintained.

  • Assist with the department’s division directors and staff members regarding existing and new rules and regulations involving physical security issues.

  • Stay abreast of current security compliance requirements, management techniques, and trends to ensure Denver Water follows best industry practices.

  • Assist with the development of the physical security annual budget, and monitor the section’s adherence to budget.

  • Assist in representing the department with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as needed.

  • Manage various contracts related to security programs including professional services and equipment purchases.

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement access control procedures. Supervise personnel conducting security patrol operations and access control functions.

  • Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Business

  • Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience and 2 years supervisory experience.

  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Licenses, Registration, and Certification:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver's license, and have a satisfactory driving record.

  • May require HIPAA Training.

  • Interpersonal relations.

  • Conducting training.

  • Organization and time management skills.

  • Security related technology.
