Hiring Salary Range:  $4,933.07 Monthly - $6,018.14 Monthly (Mid-Point)

Denver Water’s Administrative Services Division, Security Section is currently seeking a qualified candidate to assist us as a Security Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for investigation of security incidences, documentation of incident factors and identification, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of security measures.  The specialist will also operate as a team leader of proprietary and contract security guard personnel.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain and communicate daily work schedules and activities for proprietary and contract security guards.

  • Assist in the development, coordination, and presentation of employee security awareness programs to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

  • Develop and maintain security incident reporting systems and databases. Prepare reports for analysis and management review. Responsible for timely and thorough investigation of security related incidents and related matters including the preparation of thorough documentation of circumstances, vulnerabilities, and recommended corrective action.

  • Assist with the development and analysis of security metrics.

  • Assist in coordination, development, and implementation of procedures for controlling access to the Denver Water facilities through motor vehicle gates, pedestrian gates, and building entrances.

  • Conduct physical security surveys to identify security vulnerabilities.

  • Assess the nature of threats so that the scope of problems can be determined and mitigation strategies developed and implemented.

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the organization’s security program to avoid and/or control losses and provide a secure work environment.

  • Stay abreast of current security compliance requirements, management techniques, and trends to ensure Denver Water follows best industry practices.

  • Assist in representing Denver Water with local, state and federal regulatory agencies as needed.

  • Perform related work as required.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience.

  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

 

Licenses, Registration and Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license, and have a satisfactory driving record.

  • ASIS PSP certification preferred.
