Trade Shop Technician/Trade Shop Senior Technician

Hiring Salary Range for Trade Shop Technician (hourly):  $20.03 (min) - $25.04 (mid)
Hiring Salary Range for Trade Shop Sr. Technician (hourly):  $23.67 (min) - $30.30 (mid)

Type of Position: Full-Time, 40 hrs/week
On Call required

Location of position: Denver Water’s Bldg. 16 (1600 W 12th Ave, St, Denver, CO 80204)

JOB POSTING:

Denver Water’s Operations and Maintenance Division within the Support Service Section is currently seeking a qualified candidate to assist us as a Trade Shop Technician/Trade Shop Senior Technician  Under general supervision, the selected candidate will perform highly skilled work to support the trade shop. Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment that is aligned with Denver Water guidelines as well as city, state, and federal laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Trade Shop Tech

  • HVAC: Perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all aspects of HVACR work including commercial, residential, controls and building automation systems.

  • Repair, replace, modify, and install equipment and components related to maintenance tasks involving facilities.

  • Assist in the development of predictive and preventive maintenance procedures in all trade shops.

  • Assist with various projects and ensure the cleaning of equipment and working areas.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper condition by cleaning and oiling machinery, and reporting needed repairs.

  • Assist in dismantling and assembling equipment undergoing repair.

  • Support other Denver Water sections and shops in the general repair of other mechanical related items.

  • Ability to Inspect and diagnose issues which may occur in relation to equipment being operated within shop.

  • Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience for Trade Shop Tech

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience.

  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Licenses, Registration, and Certification for Trade Shop Tech

  • HVAC Certification required.

  • May require possession of a standard driver’s license (ability to obtain within 1 month of hire).

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Trade Shop Sr. Tech (in addition to the duties listed above).

  • Maintain work and production information and data through record keeping and inventory control. Provide regular reports to appropriate departments.

  • Develop predictive and preventive maintenance procedures in all trade shops.

  • Prepare estimates of materials, parts, equipment requirements, requisitions of materials, and supplies from general stock.

  • May lead a small team in completing assigned tasks for assigned shop.

  • Support and train other Denver Water sections and shops in the general repair of other mechanical related items.

  • Inspect and diagnose issues which may occur in relation to equipment being operated within shop.

  • Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience for Trade Shop Sr Tech

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience.

  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Licenses, Registration, and Certification for Trade Shop Sr Tech

  • HVAC/CFC Certification required.

  • May require possession of a standard driver’s license (ability to obtain within 1 month of hire).

  • May require HIPAA Training.
