Hiring Range: Business Technical Intern I $14.00 to $18.00/hour
Business Technical Intern II $15.00 to $21.00/hour
Location of position: Main Campus, Administration Building
Full Time 40 hours per week

Denver Water is looking for a summer intern to work in the Information & Technology Services area. This position is part of a team which supports Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Windows Server based applications, UNIX based application, storage systems, Client device technologies, etc. The selected individual will have an excellent opportunity to be exposed to data center operations in a 600+ server, multi data center infrastructure, exposure to mass client deployments, Audio Visual systems. This position will report to the I.T. Director of Infrastructure & Technology Services.
The selected individual will have the opportunity to provide assistance in the following areas:
Windows and/or Linux/Unix builds
Testing servers for operational readiness
Applying Microsoft patches to Windows Server environment
Assist in Disaster Recovery planning and testing
Data Center documentation
Client device strategies and deployments
Deploying client devices
Various technology troubleshooting
Technologies this individual may be exposed to include:
Windows Server 2012 and 2016, Windows 10
Suse Linux, HP-UX, Solaris

Storage Systems (Data Protector and Appasure, VEEAM, Acronis)
- Must have working knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure and desktop/client operating systems
- Great attitude and the desire to learn
- Ability to communicate technical terms, issues, and requirements to non-technical personnel in a manner that is collaborative and open to questions and feedback.
- Ability to work in a collaborative infrastructure support team environment.
- A self-starter able to work towards technical project milestones without significant task-level direction.
- Work off hours as necessary
Business – Technical Intern I – Freshman or Sophomore level student in Computer Information Systems.
Business – Technical Intern II – Junior or Senior level student in Computer Information Systems.
